High Desert Montessori School is an equal opportunity employer.  In order to fill positions, we generally place ads publicly in a commonly circulated newspaper and online.  There are occasions when individuals will be chosen due to time constraints and availability of qualified staff.  If you are interested in applying for employment at a successful Montessori charter school, please submit a resume or fill out an application for employment.

General information:

  • Paychecks are written on a bi-weekly basis.
  • There is a 90-day probationary period before benefits become active.
  • All employees are required to comply with the employee handbook. HERE
  • Selected positions will require some introductory employment requirements.

Certified Staff:

Certified staff includes teachers and professional administrative staff.

Classified Staff:

Classified Staff include teaching assistants and non-professional administrative staff positions.

Full time (more than 30 hrs per week), school year only:

Full time (more than 30 hrs per week), year round:

  • State sponsored retirement program provided by the Public Employees Retirement Systems of Nevada
  • Opt-in pre-tax 403B plan
  • Vacation time accrual (1.6 hrs/40 hrs worked)

Part time (more than 20 hours per week):

  • State sponsored retirement program provided by the Public Employees Retirement Systems of Nevada
  • Opt-in pre-tax 403B plan

Less than 20 hours per week:

  • No additional benefits aside from our gratitude 

* - Insurance is an optional portion of the benefits package.  There is a $40.00 per pay period co-pay for it.  If the employee has their own insurance and would like to maintain that, HDMS will reimburse the employee the amount that the employee pays to keep their own insurance up to $300.00 per month.  Documentation must be provided to the Human Resource Manager and payments will start upon receipt of documentation or the 90 day period, whichever is longer.
